Privacy policy
Last updated: 26 August 2026
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit getclarityplanner.com or join our email list, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be skipped.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Mafalda Lima, acting as an individual.
Email: hello@getclarityplanner.com
2. What we collect, and why
When you join our email list
- Your email address — to send you the emails you asked for. Basis: your consent.
- Your first name, if you give it — to write to you by name. Basis: your consent.
- The date, time and IP address of your confirmation — to prove you agreed, if anyone ever asks. Basis: legal obligation.
- Which page you signed up from, and which advert or creator brought you — to send you emails about what you actually came for, and to know which of our own efforts work. Basis: your consent.
When you buy something
This applies from November 2026, when pre-orders open.
- Name, delivery address, phone — to print your order and get it to you. Basis: performance of a contract.
- Order and payment records — because tax and accounting law requires us to keep them. Basis: legal obligation.
We never see or store your full card details. Payments are handled by the payment providers connected to our store.
When you simply visit the site
Our store runs on Shopify, which sets a small number of cookies that are necessary for the site to work at all — remembering your session, keeping a cart, preventing abuse. These are not used to advertise to you. Everything beyond that is covered in section 7, and is your choice.
3. Who else touches your data
We use the following service providers. Each of them acts on our instructions, and none of them may use your data for their own purposes.
- Shopify — runs our online store. Canada, with infrastructure in the EU and elsewhere.
- Klaviyo — sends our emails, stores the list, and runs the sign-up form on our pages. United States.
- Pinterest — measures whether our Pinterest posts and adverts bring people here. United States.
- Google — serves the typefaces used by our sign-up form. United States.
The Pinterest measurement only runs if you accept marketing cookies. The Google fonts load together with the sign-up form — see section 7, where we say plainly what that means and what we are doing about it.
4. Data leaving the European Union
Some of these companies are based in the United States, so data connected to you is transferred outside the European Union.
Those transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, under which Klaviyo, Pinterest and Google are all self-certified, and — for Klaviyo, which holds the most data about you — additionally on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, which apply for as long as and to the extent that the Framework cannot be relied on.
You can check any company's current status yourself on the public list at dataprivacyframework.gov. We checked all three on 24 August 2026.
5. How long we keep it
- Your email address and list data — until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and in any case no longer than 5 years without any interaction from you.
- Proof that you consented — for as long as we hold your email, and 3 years after, so we can show it was lawful.
- Order, invoice and accounting records — 10 years, as Portuguese tax law requires.
6. What you can do
You can, at any time:
- See what we hold about you
- Correct it if it is wrong
- Delete it
- Take it with you, in a file you can use elsewhere
- Withdraw your consent — every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and using it takes effect immediately
- Object to how we use it
Write to hello@getclarityplanner.com and we will answer within one month. We will not ask you why, and we will not make it difficult.
If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Portuguese supervisory authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (cnpd.pt), or to the authority in the country where you live.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
What runs no matter what
Shopify sets a small number of cookies so the site works at all: keeping your session, remembering your cart and your language, and protecting against abuse. These cannot be switched off without breaking the site, and they are not used to advertise to you.
What is your choice
If you are visiting from the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another region with equivalent rules, a banner asks you before anything used for analytics or marketing runs. You can accept, decline, or open Manage preferences and decide purpose by purpose. You can change your answer later from the same place.
If you make no choice, nothing is treated as consented. We do not read silence as a yes. Our Pinterest measurement, for example, does not run at all until you have accepted marketing cookies.
Two things that currently load before you have chosen, and we would rather tell you
We would rather write this down than let you find it yourself.
Our email provider's script. Klaviyo's script loads with our pages so that the sign-up form can appear and, if you use it, be connected to the page you came from. It stores an identifier in your browser's local storage when the page loads — today, before any cookie choice has been recorded. It does not know who you are unless you give us your email. We are changing this so that it waits for your answer.
Our typefaces. The sign-up form on our pages is provided by Klaviyo, and it loads its typefaces from Google Fonts — which means Google receives your IP address when the page loads. Google LLC is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. The rest of our pages serve their fonts from Shopify's servers, and we are moving the remaining Google fonts off our own pages as we rebuild them.
What we do not do
We do not use Google Analytics, and we do not use Meta's pixel. There is no advertising tracker on this site other than the Pinterest measurement described above, and that one waits for your consent. If any of this changes, this page changes first.
8. Children
The Clarity Planner is made for adults at work. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant and you are on our list, we will tell you by email rather than hoping you notice.
